Fixed Deposits
RULES
| (a) |
There is no obligation on the part of the Bank to release the proceeds of any deposit before its maturity. |
| (b) |
The proceeds of the fixed deposits will not be released until the fixed deposit receipt is duly discharged and surrendered to the Bank. |
| (c) |
Unless written instructions to the contrary are received by the Bank at least 7 days before the date of maturity of the deposit, the Bank shall have the discretion to renew the fixed deposit for a similar period, in terms of (1) d above. |
| (d) |
All renewals of fixed deposits will be at rates of interest in force at the time of such renewal. |
| (e) |
Where the deposit is in joint names, in the event of death of any of the joint depositors, the proceeds of the deposit and accrued interest if any, shall be payable to the survivor or survivors subject to legislation in force. |
Arunalu
| 1. |
Arunalu Account will be an individual account in the name of the minor and not a joint account. The minor in whose name the account is opened, will be the beneficiary of the deposits made to the account. |
| 2. |
Withdrawals will not be permitted under normal circumstances prior to minor attaining majority. Withdrawals will only be allowed at the discretion of the Bank for essential purposes of minor on the signature of the depositor. |
| 3. |
The minimum required to open an account is Rs. 100/-. |
| 4. |
Each depositor will be issued with a passbook, the safety of which will be the depositor's responsibility. |
| 5. |
The amounts deposited will be recorded in the passbook by the Bank. Depositors should examine passbooks carefully, before leaving the Bank and satisfy themselves that the entries made therein are correct. The Bank will not accept responsibility for any entries unless those are either computer printed or entered under the signature of an Authorised Officer of the Bank. |
| 6. |
Interest will be calculated on the daily balance and credited monthly. Bank reserves the right to withhold interest if the balance in account falls below Rs. 100/- and the Bank reserves the right to close such accounts. |
| 7. |
Upon minor attaining majority he / she should claim the balance after proving his / her identity to the satisfaction of the Bank. Where such balance is not claimed within 2 weeks, account will be converted to an ordinary savings account in the name of the beneficiary. Such ordinary savings account will be governed by the rules relating to savings accounts. |
| 8. |
If the Minor's Birth Certificate is not submitted at the time of opening the account, it should be produced at the time of claiming the balance. |
| 9. |
Bank will not accept or recognise trusts. |
| 10. |
The nominee appointed by the depositor at the time of opening the account will be considered by the Bank as the depositor for all purposes in the event of original depositor's death, prior to minor attaining majority. |
| 11. |
Business relating to all accounts will be conducted by the Bank during normal business hours. |
| 12. |
Bank reserves the right to change these rules, add any new rules or change the rate of interest at any time. |
DOTCOM Spin
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DOTCOM SPIN JUNIOR SAVER ACCOUNT
| 1. |
This account could be opened and operated on behalf of anyone between 10 and 15 years of age by the parent. |
| 2. |
The original of the Minor's Birth Certificate together with a photocopy and a photocopy of the Identity Card/Passport of the Parent should be produced at the time of opening this account. If original Birth Certificate is not available, a photocopy of the Birth Certificate certified as a true copy by the parent should be submitted. |
| 3. |
Minimum deposit required to open an account is Rs.1,000/- |
| 4. |
No Passbook would be issued. In its place a Quarterly Statement of account would be issued. |
| 5. |
Interest will be calculated on the daily balances and credited monthly.
Bank reserves the right to withhold interest if the balance in account falls below Rs.1,000/-. |
| 6. |
Cheques or any other deposits will be accepted to the credit of this account only at the discretion of the Bank. |
| 7. |
Withdrawals of up to Rs.1,000/- per day could be made through any CAT Automated Teller Machine. Over the counter withdrawals are confined to the account holding branch and would be restricted to a maximum of Rs.1,000/- per day on production of the DotCom Spin Junior Saver Card by the Minor. Over the counter withdrawals in excess of Rs.1,000/- could only be done along with the Parent. |
| 8. |
Not to hold the Bank liable, responsible or accountable in any way whatsoever for any loss or damage howsoever arising due to allowing the minor named overleaf to make withdrawals from the account as set out in rule No.7 above. |
| 9. |
The maximum balance lying to the credit of this account should not exceed Rs.200,000/- or such higher amounts specified by the Bank from time to time. |
| 10. |
Accounts which carry less than the required minimum balance may be closed by the Bank. |
| 11. |
Upon reaching 15 years of age, the Minor may request the Bank to convert the DotCom Spin Junior Saver Account to a DotCom Teen Saver Account. The necessary DotCom Teen Saver Account Opening Form and Card Application Form should be completed and handed over. |
| 12. |
Where DotCom Spin Junior Saver Account has not been closed or converted to a DotCom Teen Saver Account, the Bank reserves the right to convert it into an ordinary Savings Account in the name of the minor, after setting off the balance against any loan outstandings on or after the 18th birthday. |
| 13. |
Unless the loss of the card has been reported and acknowledged by the Bank, any payments made by the Bank upon the production of the DotCom Spin Junior Saver Card and the correctly signed withdrawal form shall have the same effect as if made to the account holder personally. |
| 14. |
The Bank reserves the right to alter or add to these rules at any time. |
DOT COM
1.

| 2. |
Interest will be calculated on the daily balances and credited monthly. Bank reserves the right to withhold interest if the balance in account falls below Rs. 1,000/- . |
| 3. |
No Pass Book would be issued. In its place a Quarterly Statement of Account would be issued. |
| 4. |
Cheques or any other deposits will be accepted to the credit of this account only at the discretion of the Bank. |
| 5. |
The maximum balance lying to the credit of this account should not exceed Rs. 200,000/- or such higher amount specified by the Bank from time to time. |
| 6. |
Accounts which carry less than the required minimum balance may be closed by the Bank. |
| 7. |
National Identity Card, Postal Identity Card or a photograph certified by the school principal or any other acceptable form of identity should be produced at the time of opening this account. |
| 8. |
Withdrawals would be permitted from the time the account .is opened up to a maximum of Rs. 5,000/- per day on production of the DotCom Card or through (CAT) Automated Teller Machines. |
| 9. |
This account could be opened and operated by anyone between 15 and 20 years of age. |
| 10. |
Upon reaching 21 years of age the account holder should convert the DotCom account to any other available account and settle confessional loan outstandings (if any). Where the DotCom account has not been closed one month after the 21 st birthday, the Bank reserves the right to convert the DotCom account into a normal Savings Account after setting off balance against any loan outstanding. |

Any payments made by the Bank upon the production of the Dotcom Card and a correctly signed withdrawal form shall have the same effect as if made to the account holder personally. |
| 12. |
The Bank reserves the right to alter or add to these rules at any time. |
CAT
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
In consideration of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Ltd.(Bank) pursuant to my/our request, making available to me/us Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Facilities and issuing to me/us a CAT CARD (Card), I/We agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

At no time and under no circumstances to disclose to any person the Personal Identification Number/s (PIN NO/S) a11otted to me/us. |
| 2. |
To immediately notify the Bank of the loss or theft of the Card |
| 3. |
At all times to regard the Card as the property of the Bank and to surrender it unconditionally and without reservation upon demand by the Bank. |
| 4. |
At no time to use or attempt to use the Card unless there are sufficient funds in my/our account to cover the withdrawal or transfer. |
| 5. |
To restrict use of the Card exclusively to the person named overleaf as it is not transferable. |
| 6. |
Not to use or attempt to use the Card after any notification of its cancellation or withdrawal has been given to me/us by the Bank or by any person acting on behalf of the Bank. |
| 7. |
To accept full responsibility for all transactions processed from the use of the Card except any transactions occuring after the Bank shall have confirmed to me/us that it has received notice of loss or theft of the Card or of unauthorised acquisition of the Personal Identification Number. |
| 8. |
Subject to (7) above to accept the Bank's record of withdrawals and/or transfers as conclusive and binding for all purposes and to authorise the Bank to debit my/our account with all amounts withdrawn or transferred with or without my/our knowledge or authority. |
| 9. |
To acknowledge that the amount stated on the ATM Screen or a printed inquiry slip or receipt advice shall not for any purpose whatsoever be taken as conclusive of the state of my/our account with the Bank. |
| 10. |
Not to hold the Bank liable, responsible or accountable in any way whatsoever for any loss or damage howsoever arising, caused by any malfunction or failure of the Card or the ATM or the insufficiency of funds in the ATM. |
| 11. |
Notwithstanding and without prejudice to the generality of the provisions of (10) above the use of the Card shall be at my/our sole risk and I/We assume any and all risks incidental to or arising out of the use of the Card. |
| 12. |
The Bank will not be responsible for the Card not being honoured for any reason whatsoever. |
| 13. |
To return the Card for cancellation should it be no longer required or should my/our account with the Bank for any reason be closed. |
| 14. |
That the Bank shall be at liberty to terminate the facility at any time without notice to me/us by cancelling or refusing to renew the Card. |
| 15. |
Cash and/or cheques deposited by use of the Card will only be credited to my/our account after verification by the Bank. The statement issued by the Automated Teller Machine at the time of deposit will only represent what l/We purport to have deposited and shall not be binding on the Bank. The Bank’s count of the amount contained in the envelope shall be conclusive. Cheques will be accepted for Collection only and the Proceeds will not be available for drawing until the cheques are cleared and realised. |
| 16. |
Joint Account Holders are inter alia jointly & severally bound by these terms and conditions and are liable for all transactions processed by the use of the Card. |
| 17. |
All rules and regulations governing the operation of Current, Savings or any other Account shall be applicable to Card transactions relating to such accounts. |
| 18. |
I/We undertake not to use this Card to make payment for purchases of Real Estate or Financial Assets overseas. |
| 19. |
The Bank reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions. |
COMBANK ONLINE
In consideration of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Limited (bank) pursuant to my/our request making available to me/us Internet Banking facility
I/we agree to be bound by the following terms & conditions.

To restrict the use of Internet Banking facility exclusively to the person/s named overleaf |
| 2. |
At no time and under no circumstances to disclose to any person the user ID/Password/Personal Identity No.(PIN) required for use of Internet Banking facility and to treat such as strictly confidential. |
| 3. |
To report to the Bank immediately upon becoming aware that the user ID/Password/PIN has fallen into hands of any unauthorized party. |
| 4. |
To accept full responsibility for all transactions processed from the use of the Internet Banking facility. |
| 5. |
To accept Bank’s record of transactions as conclusive and binding for all purposes. |
| 6. |
That the Bank has the authority to revoke the account holders right to give instructions to the Bank using Internet Banking facility, at any time, without prior notice. |
| 7. |
That the Bank is not bound to carryout the instructions given by the account holder, if the Bank at its sole discretion believes that such instructions do not emanate from the account holder. |
| 8. |
Not to hold the Bank liable, responsible or accountable in anyway whatsoever for any loss or damage whatsoever arising by any malfunctions or failure of the Internet Banking Facility or on the failure or delay of the bank to act on instructions given via this medium. |
| 9. |
Notwithstanding to and without prejudice to the generally of provision of (8) above the use oh Internet banking facility shall be at my/our sole risk and I/We also accept any and all risk, incidental to or arising out of the use of Internet Banking Facility. |
| 10. |
That the Bank shall be at liberty to terminate the facility at any time without notice to me/us by canceling the facility. |
| 11. |
Joint account holders are inter-alia jointly and severally bound by these terms and conditions and are jointly and severally liable for all transactions processed by the use of this facility irrespective of whether the instructions have been given by one or more of the Joint Account Holders. |
12. |
All rules and regulations governing the operations on Current, Savings or any other account shall be applicable to Internet banking transactions relating to such accounts. |
| 13. |
That the Bank reserves the right to vary these terms & conditions and fees applicable at any time and without prior notice. |
COM e-load
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
In consideration of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Limited (Bank) pursuant to my/our request making available to me/us Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility, I/We agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

To restrict the use of Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility exclusively to the person/s named in the application. |
| 2. |
To restrict the Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility exclusively for the prepaid phone connection indicated in the application. |
| 3. |
At no time under no circumstances to disclose to any person the Personal Identification No.(PIN) required for use of Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility and to treat such as strictly confidential. |
| 4. |
To report to the Bank immediately upon becoming aware that the PIN has fallen into the hands of any un-authorised party. |
| 5. |
To report to the bank immediately if the mobile phone is lost/stolen or sold, in order for the Bank to deactivate/cancel the facility. |
| 6. |
To permit the Bank to debit the account mentioned in the application for all TOP-UP values and accept full responsibility for all transactions processed from the use of Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility. |
| 7. |
To accept the Bank’s record of transactions as conclusive and binding for all purposes. |
| 8. |
That the Bank has the authority to revoke the account holders’ right to use Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility, at any time, without prior notice. |
| 9. |
That the Bank is not bound to carryout instructions given by the account holder, if the Bank has any reason to believe that such instructions do not emanate from the account holder. |
| 10. |
Not to hold the Bank liable, responsible or accountable in anyway whatsoever for any loss or damage whatsoever arising by any malfunction or failure of the Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility. |
| 11. |
Notwithstanding and without prejudice to the generality of provision of (10) above, the use of Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility shall be at my/our sole risk and I/we also accept any and all risks and expenses incidental to or arising out of the use of the Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility. |
| 12. |
That the Bank shall be at liberty to terminate the facility at any time without notice to me/us by cancelling the facility. |
| 13. |
Joint account holders are inter-alia jointly and severally bound by these Terms and Conditions and are jointly and severally liable for all transactions processed by the use of the Mobile Phone TOP-UP facility irrespective of whether the instructions have been given by one or more of the Joint Account Holders. |
| 14. |
All rules and regulations governing the operations on Current, Savings or any other account shall be applicable to Mobile Phone TOP-UP transactions relating to such accounts. |
| 15. |
The Customer shall keep the Bank indemnified at all times against claims, demands, actions, proceedings, damages, losses, costs, and expenses which may be brought against or incurred by the Bank and which shall or may arise directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this facility. |
| 16. |
That the Bank reserves the right to vary these Terms & Conditions and fees applicable at any time and without prior notice. |
