RFC Savings Deposit Accounts
Could be opened with a minimum balance of US$ 100 or its equivalent in other currencies.

RFC Fixed Deposits
Could be opened with USD 5,000/- or its equivalent in other currencies. Fixed Deposits could be made for periods of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.

Interest
Interest will be calculated on the daily balance and credited to your account quarterly, resulting in you earning much more than the published rates. Interest rates are negotiable for Fixed Deposits higher than USD 50,000/or equivalent.
The interest earned on RFC Accounts are free of all taxes RFC funds are freely transferable without being subject to Exchange Control regulations. (Subject to change in accordance with the Central Bank regulations).

Deposits
Any type of inward remittance can be credited to RFC accounts.
These can be,

Telegraphic Transfers/Bank Drafts drawn on Commercial Bank of Ceylon Ltd., on which immediate credit is given without any charge/ commission. |

US Dollar Drafts (drawn on New York) Sterling Pound Drafts (drawn on London) and such other drafts issued by Banks/ Finance Companies abroad. |
3. |
Personal cheques in foreign currency. |
4. |
Foreign currency notes. |

Withdrawals
Withdrawals can be made from RFC Savings Accounts.
1. Personally On production of your passport! N.I.C.
2. By CAT Card through any ATM displaying Cirrus Logo in the currency of the country.
3. On your written instructions to pay another party.
4. For the purpose of remitting abroad in any foreign currency.
5. For obtaining Travellers Cheques/ Currency Notes for travel abroad.

CAT (Commercial Automated Teller) Card could be obtained for all RFC Savings Accounts, which will enable you to withdraw funds from over any of the ATMs locally and allover the world, which display Cirrus Logo. |
