The Visa Debit Card is a simple and easy method of purchasing goods and services from any outlet.

Use your Visa Debit card instead of cash to pay for everyday purchases- whether at a grocery store, dining at a restaurant, refueling your car or buying the perfect gift for your loved ones at over 7, 000 merchants locally.

Your Visa Debit Card can also be used when you travel overseas, at more than 29 million acceptance locations worldwide.

You can even use it to withdraw cash from over one million ATMs around the world.

Visa Debit Cards function exactly like any other Visa Card. The differences are, you gain direct access to the funds in your account and it cannot be used for internet transactions. With Visa Debit, you exercise the choice to "pay now" with your own funds, avoiding interest and other additional charges.

All transactions will be recorded in your passbook or the Bank statement thus enabling you to manage your expenses efficiently and accurately.

Paying with Visa Debit is simple, convenient and safe

	Look for the Visa acceptance mark
	Present your Visa Debit Card to the merchant at the time of transaction. The merchant will swipe it through the authorization terminal and enter the purchase information.
	The terminal processes the transaction in seconds and confirms availability of funds. A sales receipt will be issued and the transaction amount is automatically deducted from your account.
	Verify the amount on the sales receipt and place your signature on it.

Important: When using your card

	Protect your card as it is cash. Do not leave it unattended.
	Report the loss or theft of your card immediately on our hotline 2 353 353
	Ensure that you get your card back after every purchase and/or ATM transaction
	Always check amount on sales receipt before you sign.
	Keep your copies of sales and ATM receipts and check against your bank statement.
	Check all transactions in your Bank statement, even the small ones, especially after overseas travel.
	Know who has access to your card. Even if your card is taken by a family member with or without your knowledge, you will be responsible for their purchase/cash withdrawal.
	The card has a daily ATM withdrawal limit of Rs.20,000/- and a daily purchase limit of Rs.50,000/- at a merchant point. Daily limits are a security measure. Talk to your branch or the Card Centre for any higher limit requirement.
	Please note that it is only the primary account that will be debited for your purchases by Visa Debit card. So please mark the primary account in your card application and also ensure that you have adequate funds in the account at the time of purchase.
