CBC Annual Staff Conference was held on 03.02.2013. The Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Ravi Dias who came for an official visit to Bangladesh from Sri Lanka was present in the conference along with other senior officials of the Bank.

CBC Received "Best Corporate Performance Award- 2012"

The Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Mr. Dilan Rajapakse receiving the “ICMAB Best Corporate Performance Award-2012” from Honorable Commerce Minister Ghulam Muhammed Quader, MP at a ceremony in Hotel Ruposhi Bangla in Dhaka recently. This is the 4th time the bank is receiving this prestigious award under foreign bank category. The event was organized by The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMAB) of Bangladesh.

CBC Donated Winter Cloths among cold affected people

Commercial Bank of Ceylon (CBC) organized a program on 28.12.2012 where 650 winter clothes were distributed among the locals of Mirzapur Union of Gazipur district as a part of its CSR project. The program was held in Paddapara which is an interior village of Mirzapur Union.

CSR Activity at Memon Maternity Hospital

The Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC., Mr. Dilan Rajapakse handed over a Tk. 200,000 cheque to the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation, Mr. Alhaj Manzurul Alam, as a part of bank’s CSR initiatives to the Memon Maternity Hospital.

CSR Activity at Thalassaemia Hospital

The Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Mr. Dilan Rajapakse handed over a cheque on 14.11.2012 to the President of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity Mr. Omar G. Rabbany, being donation to the Thalassaemia Hospital as a part of its CSR initiatives.

In-house Training Program on Retail and SME Credit Operations

CBC has arranged a daylong Training Program on Retail and SME Credit Operations at its training room in CBC Head Office on 1st Setember 2012. A total of 36 participants from different departments of the Bank attended the training program.

CBC Rated AAA Again

CBC has been rated ‘AAA’ (Triple A) by CRISL for long term for the 2nd year in succession. CBC was also reaffirmed ‘ST-1’ for short term based on the financials of 2011. The rating AAA by CRISL was based on bank’s asset quality, capital adequacy, financial and operating efficiency, risk management, etc.

CBC Donates to the Institute of Art & Culture- CSR Activity

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC donated to Institute of Art & Culture as a part of bank’s CSR activity in Art and Culture. The institute organized a launching program on 07.04.12 where eminent authors and poets were present. The Institute of Art and Culture is mainly focusing on promoting underprivileged, educational and social changes based activities, culture-projects for enriching lives, promoting culture and environment friendly events.

CBC's Annual Staff Conference 2012

Commercial Bank of Ceylon (CBC) had its “Annual Staff Conference 2012” at a city auditorium on 3rd March 2012. Ms. Marion Abeywardene, Deputy General Manager, Corporate Banking, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Head Office (Colombo), graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The Country Manager Mr. S. Prabagar and other management members along with the chief guest in their speeches highlighted various important achievements of the bank during 2011 and they focused on various aspects in line with the strategic plan and direction of the bank during 2012.

CBC's Agrabad Branch relocated

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC (CBC) relocated its Chittagong Branch to 1102/A, Agrabad C/A, Chittagong.

The ceremonial opening of the new office was held on 30th January 2012 amidst a large gathering of customers and staff, which was presided over Mr. K. D. Nimal Laxman – DGM, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Sri Lanka.
